Gratton Clears, Boris Hurt

October 6, 2009

In case you haven’t heard, Josh Gratton cleared waivers and will be assigned to the Chicago Wolves in the AHL. This will likely pave the way for Colby Armstrong to be activated off or the IR, whether that happens today or later in the week.

Boris Valabik fell awkwardly at practice yesterday and is going for an MRI today. The results of that won’t be known until tomorrow, so stayed tuned for news on that front.

Yeah, what’s up with that? The rest of the division is half-way through the season already!

I hope it doesn’t kill any momentum they have coming off of opening night.

That’s my biggest concern… but it might be for the best, since we get off to bad starts typically. This way they can ease into the season. The schedule is heaviest in March, with 12 out of 17 games at home… if we finish strong, like last season, that could be huge!

Not to mention we have to play the Blues who just destroyed the Red Wings. So we could definitely use tomorrows win.

Good to hear Gratton is available as a call up. Hopefully they will put Valabik on the IR…for the whole season!! Is there anything definate about Schubert playing on Thurs (and will Popovic be the one in the press box?)
